Hi,
Recently I have been researching my family history on both my mum and dads side. It's a rather exciting and upsetting thing to d but it is so worth it.
On dads side I have found at that my great great grandfather is an illegitimate child so I can't trace that line back any further. I have also found that I have a lot of convicts in my ancestry. Dads side are also some of the founding members of the apple orchards in the Huon Valley. They also had a saw mill, I would love to know where so I could go and see if anything is still there.
The saddest thing I have found on dads side is one of my relatives had 6 children: 5 boys and a girl. During world war one all of the boys signed up for the big adventure and none of them returned.
Mums side is farm more boring. They lived in England and then moved to Australia, end of story. The most exciting thing, I can't confirm it though, is the story that they came from somewhere else in Europe and moved to England. On arrival to England they changed their name.
Has anyone else done a family tree?
Until next time xx
