We are talking beverages of the alcholic sort this week boys, so buckle up, you might be in for a bumpy ride. The drinks I have chosen have been tested and approved by papa bear and the little bro. Do you have a manly drink that isn't beer?
Side Car
The Sidecar is often singled out as the only good cocktail to come out of the long national nightmare that was Prohibition. The luminous, golden-straw color, the perfectly controlled sweetness, the jazzy high notes of the citrus against the steady bass of the brandy.
How to make it:
- Juice of ¼ Lemon
- 1 oz. Triple Sec (Curacao, Grand Marnier or Cointreau are also acceptable)
- 1 oz. Brandy or Cognac
Stir with ice and strain into a cocktail glass.
Scotch and Soda
Scotch & Soda
Basic. Simple. Not sweet and neon pink with fruit and umbrellas all over the place. Go for the good blended stuff here and save your single malts.

Caipirinha
pronounced kie-purr-REEN-yah) which roughly translates to "country bumpkin" and it is the national drink of Brazil, where it originated, and is a common Carnavale drink
How to make it:
- 1 lime, quartered
- 2 teaspoons fine sugar
- 2 ounces cachaca
Place the lime wedges and sugar into an old-fashioned glass. Muddle well. Fill the glass with ice cubes. Pour in the cachaca. Stir well.
Until next time
